Building surveys provide detailed information on the construction and condition of a building and is suitable for all residential properties. It is therefore more expensive than a Homebuyer Report and you are more likely to need this type of survey if, for example:

  • The property is unusually built or run-down.
  • If the property has been significantly altered, or if you are planning a major conversion or renovation.
  • If the property is a Listed Building.
  • If the property is old.

Tailored to your individual needs

Building surveys are usually tailored to your needs. The report includes detailed technical information on materials and construction, and also includes a selection of photos showing specific defects.

The report does not include a market valuation or a building insurance figure, however, these can be provided at an extra cost to be agreed at the time of instruction.

Buying a property is likely to be one of the largest financial commitments you will ever make and if you want a good understanding of the condition and value of the property, then you should seriously consider having a Building Survey to give you peace of mind before moving into your new home.

We are chartered building surveyors in Kent providing services in London and the home Counties.

Commercial Building Surveys

Whether you are buying or leasing a commercial property it would be prudent to know the condition of the building and the likely repair or maintenance costs prior to purchase commitment.

The commercial building survey report will provide detailed information on the description and the condition of the building and all defects are itemised. Photographs of the main defects will be included.

Advice and budget costs for any remedial/maintenance works required can also be provided if requested.
